Today we skyped with the author, Max Brallier the author of Galactic Hot Dogs. It was so much fun! We asked lots of questions and Max answered them. He told us there would be a book two and three for Galactic Hot Dogs. The characters are Cosmoe, the earth boy, Humphree, Cosmoe's best buddy, Princess Dagger, Evil Queen Dagger and General Krax von Grumble.
We spoke to Max Brallier because we wanted to know more about him. He lives in New York and he is a really big fan of comic books. We asked him where he got his ideas from and Max told us that when he was our age he would get his ideas from movies.

Maths in Year 3
Learning Intention: to model and show commonly used fractions.
On the 27th of May, Year 3 have been using fractions to our pizzas equally. We have a pizza shop where we have been visualising how to cut our pieces of pizza so everyone gets an equal share. We have been using fractions such as halves, quarters, thirds, eighths, thirty seconds and sixty fourths. 3W made a number line from 0-1 using the fractions of pizza. We found the bigger the denominator the closer the fraction is to 0.

Footy Knock Out
On Friday the 29th of May 2015, Lewis W and Darragh M went to the Footy Knock Out with a number of other Year 3 students. We got to school at 7:45am and left on the bus at 8am.
According to Lewis and Darragh the day was great because Liam scored a try in his 3rd game ever and we had a draw against the hardest team in the competition. The boys agreed that Darragh having a head clash with a friend from baseball and losing three games were not a good parts of the day.

Holy Week in Year Three
This week we are remembering the events leading up to Jesus' death, before his resurrection on Easter Sunday.
On Monday as a school we gathered to reflect on Palm Sunday in the assembly area. The Kinders waved palm branches and called out Hosanna in the highest, while one of them acted as Jesus on his donkey, as he came into Jerusalem.
Tuesday was the day that Year One helped us remember the Last Supper through songs and action. The Year Two students led us in a reflection on Jesus' Agony in the Garden after this. It was a very sad time for Jesus and we were all very quiet and reflective.
As a class we visited the church on Wednesday to pray The Stations of The Cross. The Year Six students lead us in a prayerful reflection for each station. After reflecting on each event we sang together.
To help us better understand the events of Holy Week we have each made our own stained glass windows to commemorate this special time in the Church year. We designed and coloured our own windows and then sequenced them to represent the Easter Story. We are very proud of them.
