ANZAC

100 years of ANZAC will be commemorated on Saturday 25th April 2015.

Year Three will be focussing on the ANZAC traditions during week one literacy lessons.  We are encouraging students to do their own investigations and research into the ANZACs.  On Friday 24th April students will have the opportunity to present their research to their class.

Holy Week in Year Three

This week we are remembering the events leading up to Jesus' death, before his resurrection on Easter Sunday.

On Monday as a school we gathered to reflect on Palm Sunday in the assembly area. The Kinders waved palm branches and called out Hosanna in the highest, while one of them acted as Jesus on his donkey, as he came into Jerusalem.

Tuesday was the day that Year One helped us remember the Last Supper through songs and action. The Year Two students led us in a reflection on Jesus' Agony in the Garden after this.  It was a very sad time for Jesus and we were all very quiet and reflective.

As a class we visited the church on Wednesday to pray The Stations of The Cross. The Year Six students lead us in a prayerful reflection for each station. After reflecting on each event we sang together.

To help us better understand the events of Holy Week we have each made our own stained glass windows to commemorate this special time in the Church year. We designed and coloured our own windows and then sequenced them to represent the Easter Story. We are very proud of them.

We wish everyone a happy and holy Easter.
